Beginner Yoga

Yoga can often be quite the intimidating experience if you’re just starting out. The learning curve is pretty steep, including everything from: the poses or shapes that you make with your body, learning a foreign language, studio etiquette, mats and props to use and what’s required, philosophy of the practice, which type of yoga to practice (hint: try more than one style!), then add on what to wear to feel comfortable (a huge industry these days), and that’s just beginning. My best suggestion is to: practice, breathe, tune in, be open, and have fun.

Use this 10-minute Sun Salutation A as an introduction for beginner yoga to warm up before a more vigorous yoga flow or as a standalone warm up before your workouts. Sun salutations are great for waking the body in the morning or can be used for cooling down after a workout to stay limber.

Sun salutations are great for waking the body in the morning or can be used for cooling down after a workout to stay limber. Sun salutations are tried and true, I begin every yoga class with at least a couple. Use this 12-minute Sun Salutation B as an introduction for beginner yoga to continue your warm up after the Sun Salutation A as a standalone warm up.

In this beginner 20 minute yoga class we focus on building strength from the ground up, really feeling the foundation of our practice. We'll work a bit on strengthening the legs, challenging the balance, and spend a little time stretching out after all of our hard work of building from the ground up. I hope you enjoy!

In this 10-minute beginner to intermediate yoga video, we get right into some deep movement to promote the heart rate and blood flow and tap into both the strength and flexibility of the entire body. Be sure to remain present and open minded, approaching this practice with a sense of lightheartedness. Option to keep a block nearby so that you can work toward deeper twisting.
